Dayanna Romero received her Bachelor’s of Science degree (B.S) in Biomedical Engineering in May 2018 from Florida International University in Miami, FL. During her studies, she participated in multiple research projects to help patients with Type I and Type II Diabetes at the University Of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Her projects were focused on aiming to reduce inflammation by macrophages during Beta cell transplant therapy and discovering potential molecular modulators of Type II Diabetes development. She then spent her last academic year participating in a project focused on drug delivery and image guided therapy to help patients suffering from cancer in Florida International University. Dayanna joined the Aikawa Aikawa Lab on July 2018 to deepen her understanding of cardiometabolic disorders.
