Martinez-Martinez, Eduardo
Dr. Eduardo Martínez Martínez obtained his PhD in Neurobiology from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico. During his doctoral research in the laboratory of Dr. Gabriel Gutiérrez Ospina, he investigated the functional role of sensory innervation during wound healing. After his graduation, Dr. Martínez joined a multidisciplinary group that analyses the development of science, technology and innovation in Mexico at The Science and Technology Advisory Forum.
Dr. Martínez joined the group of Dr. Elena Aikawa in January 2013 to study the cellular mechanisms that underlie calcific aortic valve disease. He focuses on understanding the role of extracellular vesicles as precursors of microcalcifications in the aortic valve.
