Rafaelle Delaney is a student at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Originally from Van Nuys, California, Mr. Delaney is currently in the process of obtaining his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology. He has plans to attend medical school after graduation.
He is a student in the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Summer Training in Academic Research and Scholarship (BWH STARS) Program. This eight-week program is designed to provide underrepresented minority medical and undergraduate students an opportunity to engage in research projects, under the mentorship of experienced researchers, in order to enhance their research capabilities and encourage them to pursue advanced medical and graduate education and training.
Current research project: Role of Smooth Muscle Cell Discoidin Domain Receptor 1 on Matrix Vesicle Calcification. The aim of this project is to investigate the relationship between calcification potential of vesicles and collagen production in DDR1 deficient Smooth Muscle Cells.

Mr. Delaney left our lab at the end of the summer of 2014 to continue his education at Morehouse College.
